You can find everything you wish to know about their robots: small industries - called Dopey, Doc, Grumpy, ... - especially created for the E=M6 competition, chat rooms, links and even "hints and clues with Fribotte"! For 5 years this competition has established its pedigree among robotics competition. On the Robotik website you'll get all the pertaining info concerning inscriptions, results, chat rooms and a calendar of the various competitions. You can also try to enter the French robotics cup and why not the European one. Go and try, it's really worth it.

Robohoo - note the rhyme with Yzhoo! - is a webring on general robotics. The interface is classical but efficient. On the other hand, searching info soon becomes fastidious because the search engine only takes one word at a time. But their number of references is impressive. In short, for the patient and tenacious onesn this website is a good reference. Bookmark it.

Sony caught a big fish with Aibo pet-robot. Indeed, it's the first high-tech domestic robot on the market. Thanks to Sony's sales strategy - in dribs and drabs Internet sales - Aibo became a luxury product. But the result is here: Aibo is a marvel of technology on the conception point of view. The ERS-210 second series is already more powerful and slightly redesigned. According to Sony, Aibo could have real feelings, have instincts and could learn from its environment. But enough for the compliments and back to reality. Even though Aibo is astonishingly well-conceived, he is nothing but a dog's substitute. He's been available on the Internet since last mid-November, so go get it!

A website focusing on the creation of a basic ecosystem peopled with robots based on the Lego Mindstorms. This ecosystem has two kinds of population - herbivorous and carnivorous. The website offers info about the ecosystem, algorithms and pictures of the lego-built robots. A very nice project on the lookout for passionate people wanting to develop it even faster. A great initiative that we just had to list on pekee's website. Congratulations!!

RobotCafe Country: U.S.A. / Language: English Contact:
Site grade: 7.9/10 Grade site (21) See comments (4) Add comment
RobotCafe is a vertical web ring on robotics just as robohoo is. The look and organization of information are very standard, almost identical. Too bad, because even though there's an impressive number of references and links, the commentaries are too light for you to make your opinion. What's great is the "Robot Galery" part where you can find a list of robots made by private individuals and that should motivate your imagination. Moreover, the start-up company owning Robotcafe brags about owning a handful of sites name containing the word "robot". Being nice people, they offer to sell them to you, from $500 upwards. Yep, every little helps!!
